The photographer

Hi, I’m Paul. I photograph the in-between.

For five years I’ve been photographing people close to home: weddings in Iowa City, families along the Cedar River, headshots in Coralville, and small businesses across the Corridor.

What I look for is the moment just before or just after the pose. A toddler running back to a parent. The breath before a first kiss. The laugh when someone says something they shouldn’t.

Every gallery is edited by me, by hand. If that sounds like what you’re after, I’d love to hear from you.

Plan it together

We talk it through over coffee or a video call: locations, timing, and who needs to be in which photos. You get a prep guide so nothing feels rushed.

The shoot, then the gallery

I arrive early and keep things relaxed. Family galleries arrive in 1–2 weeks. Weddings get a sneak peek within 7 days and the full gallery in 2–4 weeks.

Things people often ask.

How quickly will we get our photos?
Family and portrait sessions take 1–2 weeks. For weddings you get a sneak peek within 7 days and the full gallery in 2–4 weeks. I edit every image by hand rather than batch-applying presets, which is why it takes a little time.
Where do you photograph?
Iowa City, Cedar Rapids, Coralville, North Liberty, Marion, Hiawatha, Tiffin, Solon and the rest of the Corridor, with no travel fee. I’m happy to travel across Iowa, the Midwest and further for weddings, and I’ll quote travel up front.
Can I customize a package?
Yes. The packages cover most needs. If you want something different, like extra locations, a bigger family group or multi-day brand work, mention it in your inquiry and I’ll put together a custom quote.
What happens if it rains?
For outdoor sessions we can reschedule at no cost, or work with the weather. Some of my favorite photos were taken in the rain. I bring umbrellas and backup gear.
How do we book?
A signed agreement and a 25% retainer hold your date. Family and portrait sessions can usually be booked 2–4 weeks out. Weddings tend to book 6–12 months in advance.
