There is a way photographs can feel like the day itself — not staged or performed, but lived. That is what I'm trying to make for you. Documentary coverage with an editorial eye, of the long getting-ready hours, the look on your father's face, the dance floor at midnight, and the quiet light between everything else.
Based in Iowa City and traveling throughout the Eastern Iowa Corridor for weddings of every size. Most couples book the full-day package — but if you're planning something more intimate, the half-day works beautifully too.
Two coverage options. Both include the full hand-edited gallery, online proofing, and high-resolution downloads.
For couples with intimate weddings or who want focused coverage of the most important moments — ceremony, portraits, the first part of the reception.
Full coverage from getting ready through send-off. Includes a separate engagement session ahead of the wedding — most couples find this is the right amount of time.
Every wedding looks different. Here is a typical timeline for a full-day package so you can see how the hours fit together.
Arriving early to photograph the quiet hours — dress hanging by the window, rings, letters, the people who know you best.
Optional, but recommended. A private moment between you two before the ceremony begins.
Documentary coverage from multiple angles. No flash during the ceremony itself.
Family groupings first (lists matter — we'll plan this together), then bridal party, then just the two of you in the best light of the day.
Entrances, toasts, dinner, the speeches that catch you off guard.
Dance floor lit and ready. Often the most expressive part of the gallery.
Sparklers, confetti, classic car, or just walking out together — however you want to close the day.
Every photo I deliver has been individually edited — color, exposure, tone. No batch presets. No AI shortcuts. Just the eye behind the camera.
A password-protected gallery you can share with family and guests. They can favorite photos, download what they love, or order prints directly.
Full-resolution files you own. Print them, share them, frame them — they are yours.
Your full gallery is delivered within four weeks. Full-day packages also receive a sneak peek of 30+ images within 7 days.
A planning call before the day to walk through the timeline, family groupings, must-have shots, and how to make the photography feel invisible.
Two cameras, two lenses minimum, two card slots writing simultaneously, and offsite backup the same night. Your photos are safe.
Most couples book 9–14 months out. Peak Saturday dates in late spring and fall fill up first. If your date is within 6 months, send an inquiry anyway — I sometimes have unexpected openings.
Yes. Anywhere in Iowa is included in the base rate. Beyond that, travel is billed at cost — flights, lodging, and a per-diem. I've photographed weddings across the Midwest and would love to travel further for the right couple.
Half Day: 300+ images. Full Day: 500+ images. These are the keepers — not the duplicates, blinks, or near-misses. Every delivered photo has been chosen and edited individually.
No. The edit is part of the work. Like a writer choosing words or a chef plating a dish — the unedited files are the ingredients, not the meal. What you receive is the finished gallery.
For weddings with 150+ guests, yes — a second shooter is recommended to capture moments simultaneously. For more intimate weddings, just me is usually enough. We'll talk through it during your planning call.
Send an inquiry → I'll reply within 24 hours with availability and a link to a planning call → after the call, a contract and 30% retainer hold your date. The remaining balance is due 14 days before the wedding.
Some of the best photos I've made were in the rain. We'll have a backup plan in place, but rain isn't a problem — it's a different kind of beautiful.
Send an inquiry with your date, venue, and a few words about what matters most to you. I reply to every message within 24 hours.
