Portrait of photographer Paul Wanjoeh

Hi, I'm Paul. I make photographs that feel like memory itself.

For five years, I've been quietly building a body of work across Eastern Iowa.

Weddings in Iowa City. Family sessions along the Cedar River. Headshots in downtown Coralville. Branding work for small businesses across the Corridor. Different days, different subjects — but the same patient eye looking for what's real.

I came to photography slowly. Not as a career first, but as a way of paying attention. The kind that catches the breath before a kiss, the half-second of laughter between takes, the toddler running toward a parent before anyone's posed anything. Those are the photographs I came here to make.

When clients hire me, they're rarely after something flashy. They want photos that hold up — that still feel like the moment is happening, ten years from now. That's what I aim for every time.

Outside of shoots, I'm probably reading something slowly, walking the trails around Hickory Hill, or thinking about color and light more than is strictly necessary. If you're considering working together, I'd love to hear what matters to you and see if we're a fit.

What I photograph.

01

Weddings

Documentary-leaning coverage of your day, from getting-ready quiet to the reception you'll want to remember. Half- and full-day packages across Iowa.

02

Families

Natural, unposed sessions at the locations that matter to you. Your kid running toward you, parents looking at each other, the grandparents laughing.

03

Portraits

Headshots that don't feel corporate. Personal portraits for milestones. Senior sessions that actually look like the person, not a stock-photo idea of them.

04

Branding

Imagery for small businesses, creatives, and personal brands across the Corridor. Multi-location shoots for content libraries, social, and websites.

If that resonates, let's talk.

I take a limited number of weddings and sessions each year. Reaching out early gives us the best shot at availability.
